October 3, 2020 - All the normal flavors you get from a Napa cab. Wine still holding up beautifully! Still plenty of structure being lifted by the tannins. Tannins smooth with very little drying effect on the finish. Very balanced with plenty of fruit and acidity left. Subtle secondary notes of leather and cigar. Do not pay attention to the drinking window listed above. This has 5-7 years left if stored properly. Did not decant. Popped and poured. Was ready within 15 mins. Drink and enjoy!
October 27, 2019 - Purple in color. 14.6% ABV. Fantastic nose of black fruits, plums, cedar and leather. Plush, concentrated and exceptionally well balanced. Full bodied with dark fruits in spades. Black currants, cassis liqueur, licorice and chocolate on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. At 18 years of age the silky tannins are deftly matched by gorgeous Cabernet fruit. Stunning wine that is aging gracefully. This will make 20 years of age without question. Best over the next 2-4 years.
March 13, 2019 - Bought at release, well cellared since. Exceeded expectations - black cherry, smoke and vanillin, wonderfully integrated after 30 min decant. Soft tannins. Drinking great now; recommend drinking sooner than later, as fruit is still bright with secondary nuances subtly layered behind...really nice place for a Napa cab.

May 28, 2017 - What I'm looking for and expecting from the famed 2002s, and not even a reserve bottling. This had great flavors, balance and finish from the first sip, full bodied and lots of depth. May be at the beginning of a decline, but nowhere near what I'd call over the hill. But no reason to wait.
October 27, 2016 - a bit thin upon opening. there was a a astringincy on the back side. most of that went away and it turned pleasant after 30 min.
September 12, 2016 - RICH BLACK CHERRIES, BLACKCURRANTS, AND BLACKBERRIES IN THE NOSE AND FLAVOR. NICE COMPLEXITY, LONG LEGS AND A LONG FINISH.
May 8, 2016 - 30 minute pour using a corivin. Fantastic.
