October 2, 2023 - Fully mature, yet still wonderful. Some caramel apple notes may be front-and-center, but this is still savory and nicely complex. I imagine it was better 5 years ago, but still charming tonight.

April 27, 2020 - Color: Dark Gold. Nose: Baked Lemon, custard with slight marzipan hint, quite alcoholic and strong nose (not astonishing given the 14.5% alcohol, lessens after 1 hour of bottle/ glass aeration). Taste: After opening, quite astringent, alcoholic, prominent grapefruit, lemon...quite overwhelming. After 30-40 mins, round lemon custard, oak vanilla, baked custard, high notes of slight grapefruit, overall reminds me of a younger high end Corton Charlemagne with a twist. Very pleasant, better with strong seafood as quite rich to drink by itself. Quite oaked and strong. Benefits from 1 hour decanting to take the edge off, maybe more. Still a good 5+ years to go.

August 19, 2016 - Quince and apple; notable cinnamon and oak in the background to the texture/butter and fruit, with fine acidity keeping all of this right on track; great length; not usually my style but this worked really well

November 20, 2015 - Stupendous wine. Honey, burnt caramel and baked apple. Rich and full mid palette with and absolutely drop dead finish. Williams Selyem Chardonnays age spectacularly and truly come into their own with 8 to 10 years in the bottle.

April 6, 2013 - Not my style of chardonnay anymore, but had more balance than I was expecting, and the food stood up to it. Big, big flavors, and at least interesting and balanced, but oak and butter were a bit overpowering. Also a bit high on the alcohol for me.
