We all had great expectations for this bottle but sadly it was flawed.

April 22, 2017 - Understood to have been bottled in the 1920s.
    Fairly deep amber colour.
A gorgeous, intense nose. There's furniture polish, cold black tea, sultanas, figs, and some orange zest-like high tones.
On the palate, it's massively deep, yet still very lively, with lots of dried fruit and agrumes. There's a richness, but the overall impression is that it's quite dry, and there's some lively, bright acidity. A touch of the alcohol is still quite evident. Well nigh infinite length.
The depth, the character - the wondrous depth and complexity - makes this one of the most remarkable things I've tasted in a long while.
£28 a glass at Moor Hall near Ormskirk, and worth every penny.

January 10, 2015 - Beautiful tension - a very sweet caramelly core but the nose and finish have a characteristic high-toned acidity, giving the overall impression of a medium-dry wine. This was served with cheese and was perfect with the Comte.

June 6, 2010 - 7/6/2010 supposedly 100+ years of age, in oval litre bottles, curious cork, top circumference 18mm length 20mm; rich vibrant amber red colour, strong alcoholic nose, smooth taste and full, excellent for elevenses and tastes best out of a small open mouthed glass; transforms a sauce.
