March 2, 2018 - Super musty, barnyard nose. Medium dark color and palate is typical higher acid Pinot Noir with muted fruit. Lots of exotic flavors of dirt, spice but lacking the typical Chambolle fruit. Savory flavors of leather, tobacco & earth dominate and not the fruit. Still a good but not great wine and quite a contrast to the 2014 Foxen Bien Nacido Block 43 we drank it side by side with.

November 9, 2010 - Notes taken after the bottle was open for five hours. Stunning, creamy and exotic nose of spicy fig cake, baking spices and lavender floral notes that leap out of the glass... I could just sit with my nose in the glass all night. Palate is less expressive with tightly wound red fruits with a slight sour cherry edge, rhubarb, and wet earth with a tannic grip that keeps everything in focus. Finish is long and acid-driven with some woody notes. Pure in every sensory element, with more than enough fruit and structure to develop further. Delicious.

January 15, 2009 - Really fine - a delicious palate. Fine tannins. Ageworthy.
