February 26, 2024 - Tastes of fig & prune balsamic with cherry liqueur, dried strawberries, toasted walnuts, pine nuts, and dark roasted Italian coffee beans. Very nice herbs & spices of thyme, rosemary, black pepper and an assortment of others. It is bone-dry and the alcohol is highly evident.
Over rated by the so-called "wine critics" and definitely not worth the current market valuations of $250 per bottle; however, this is a very well made and hearty CdP.
Food pairing: Garlic and blood-rare beef are the saving graces for this wine, along with strong / balanced flavors like Saint Agur Blue Cheese with candied apricots & strawberry preserves are of substantial benefit.

November 18, 2023 - Absolutely fabulous. Fresh yet complex and balanced. This wine is still going strong.

July 1, 2023 - Ten years since we first tasted this wine. My notes from back then recall some “burly” tannins and those have subsided quite a bit. Quick decant and drank during dinner prep, with dinner and one glass left after dinner as I write this note. A very good CdP but not a 100 pt wine like one of the pro reviews. Nice dense raspberry fruit but not much complexity and it’s likely time to drink up.

January 9, 2023 - (Verkostet aus der Normalflasche (75cl) im Rahmen der C9dP Probe von Peter Buser. 65% Grenache, 35% Mourvèdre) Kräftiges Rubin. Sehr rauchige Nase, schwarze Oliven, Myrte, gemüsige Noten. Im Gaumen reiffruchtig, rund im Auftakt, wird dann straffer, zeigt merklich Tannin, auch viel Alkohol, mächtig, wild, hitzig, lang. Viel Würze im Abgang. Stilistisch nicht mein Ding. 93 vvPunkte www.vvwine.ch

September 2, 2022 - Decanted and started drinking. Not as good as 2020 note so seems to be on the way down

November 25, 2021 - Perfect with Thanksgiving turkey, stuffing, etc. A big wine, almost black, and full-bodied. Not much Garrigue as in lots of cdp’s, instead smoky, peppery dark fruit.

December 26, 2020 - Christmas Eve 2020. PnP. This is just amazing. The depth of flavor is unlike anything I’ve ever had in wine. Absolutely savory with garrange, herbs, au jus. A little alcohol bite at first that burned off quickly. Full bodied, silky smooth, long finish.

June 22, 2019 - Definitely more mature than last time. Leathery notes and forest floor. Not fruity, but instead complex. Not sure it will evolve further or how it might develop.

March 16, 2019 - Meat and Garrigue on the nose. Coffee and chocolate and dark fruit on the palate. A little thinner and less rich than othe cndps. But a fantastic drinking experience w roast leg of lamb and mint rutabaga mash and sautéed kale.
