March 23, 2023 - From a perfect case a rather young showing here with bright red colour, a rather vibrant cranberry fruit that is lifted but not light, a slight savoury / meatiness but actually still more primary than I would have expected. I like 2000s for drinking today.

January 27, 2021 - Gevrey Jacques Tasting (Chicago + Zoom): 00/06 pair. Gorgeous, complex aromas of rich, meaty black cherry with mushroom and earth. The palate is complete, mature and complex though showing slightly tired on the finish, and more so with time in glass. One to drink now for maximum enjoyment.

January 27, 2021 - Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Tasting ("The Jacques") (Chicagoland IL): Mature black cherry with meaty character and woodsy spice. Good enough weight, but the star here is its impeccable balance and elegance. Good+ length.

February 8, 2017 - Wasserman Burgundy Dinner (Smyth - Chicago IL): All black cherry, nicely mature on nose and palate with hearty Boeuf Bourgignon spice and plenty of slowly cooked mushroom. Moderate weight and length, with nearly perfect balance. Very good now through 2025 or so.

March 10, 2016 - Bonhams Pre-Sale Tasting (San Francisco): Tawny. Complex nose with bacony char and game. Light weight, slightly sweet, gentle red fruit, nice feel, fine thread of earth. Another mature 2000 red that I liked. Proper Gevrey.
