February 23, 2024 - Wine and poker night. Brought this from deep in the cellar, purchased from WTSO years ago - all I can say is I paid nowhere near the CT community valuation.
Tried for 30-minute decant, but too impatient. A bit of bricking at the edges. Tight and tannic at first but opened quickly. Very serious wine, even for a Barbaresco. Medium weight, but very intense. Dark cherry fruit a bit muted. Plenty of herbal notes, lots of menthol, and a flinty edge. My favorite wine of the night (I opened three other serious Italians). Maybe peaking now or just a bit past.

January 26, 2024 - Closer to the tannic austerity of a Barolo than I might of thought. A bit of a bruiser still, but a lovely wine.

October 29, 2023 - Lovely with lasagna at Kevin and Sarah's. Thanks Howard. Decanted for 1 -2 hours before serving and lovely.

March 28, 2023 - NV Bruno Giacosa Asili and Rabajà (La Brasserie, NYC): [Not double-decanted but given slow oxidation for 3 hours starting around 3pm.] Fragrant nose of black cherries. Tight in the mouth. Needed more air, still a very goodwine.

January 13, 2023 - B&B lunch at Bar Cicheti. Tasted blind. Drank in Conterno Sensory.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose medium+ intensity, with whiffs of VA, red fruits, red licorice, floral rose with more air. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14%), smooth integrated tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet tea leaves, red cherries, strawberries, stony earth minerals, light roses and slight sweet tar. Very long finish.
Very good quality. More ready than 3 years ago. Still showing lots of feminine elegance.
