December 2, 2014 - The wine is clear and bright with a pale garnet colour.

The nose is clean and developing, showing medium(+) intensity aromas of black fruit (dark plums, dark cherries), pungent spices (anise), flowers (violets), oak (coconut, vanilla, cinnamon) and bottle age (truffles).

The wine is dry in the mouth with a medium acidity. It has medium ripe rounded tannins and a medium(+) alcohol. It has a medium(+) body and pronounced intensity flavours of black fruit (dark plums, dark cherries), pungent spices (anise), flowers (violets), oak (coconut, vanilla, cinnamon) and bottle age (truffles). The finish is medium(+).

It is a very good quality wine. It has a great flavour concentration and a very persistent finish, it also shows a lot of complexity provided by oak and bottle ageing, and some floral and spicy notes. However the excess of oak is masking a bit the typicity of the Pinot Noir, it lacks purity.

Can drink now, but it has some tannic structure and enough fruit concentration to integrate better the oak aromas and continue developing some more tertiary aromas over the next 3-5 years.

August 10, 2014 - If there's one, probably this is a good moment to drink this bottle.
Dark crimson colour for a spices cupboard nose. Simple yet effective.
Good performance on the palate with a firm texture, medium bodied, that didn't give a long permanence.
Possibly last glass was the better but, in my view, can't match La Crema.

July 24, 2012 - Medium ruby to garnet in colour with a medium+ intense nose.

Positives: Light cedar, blackcurrants, green peppers, raisins, plum & cigar box. Medium body with low tannins, high acidity and medium+ length.

Negatives: Too acidic with not enough fruit to balance it.

Drink now and pair it with food, such as grilled lamb chops with sweet mint sauce.

    Tasted: 23 July 2012

    Score: 8.5 /10, Value: 8/10, Total: 16.5 /20

Out of 5 stars, I rated this wine 3

June 19, 2012 - Not sure how this bottle made it into my cellar but nonetheless (I love this adverb) it was mediocre at best, then again I held it way too long. It was fine, fruit forward at this age and lacking any structure to hold it together.
