October 30, 2014 - My second bottle after a bit more than a year -- Opened and let stand for about 1 1/2 hours. This had very traditional garrigue, tar, menthol and herbal notes wrapped around a firm core earthy fruitiness. A mouthful for sure, but one that I kept wanting more of. This is a real pleasure with 2 to 3 more solid years at least.

June 7, 2013 - Give this an hour to breathe. Deep purple color with massive veins flowing down the side of glass. It opens up to hints of pepper, herbs and unsweetened dark chocolate powder and carries a 20 - 30 second finish. This wine tastes like you can have a conversation with it, and that when you're finished you'll know more than you did and feel better for it. No idea when I bought this. I have one bottle left and will let it be for another couple of years.

December 6, 2010 - Half a bottle was drank 3 days ago. As I always do, the remaining half bottle was transferred to a 375ml bottle with barely any air at the top and corked. I normally do not wait that long to consume the remaining half bottle, but that's how the cookie crumbled! Nothing bad about that though!!!

Notes are from the very last glass.
Ruby red, dense color, beautiful viscous tears on the glass that last long after the swirl.
The nose is very floral with crushed petals and a mixture of red and black berries wafting out of the glass. Caramel and sweet, sweet vanilla are also noticeable. A tinge of heat on the nose.
Attack is soft with plum and cherry juice dominating.
Mid-palate has mint, white pepper, a bit of herbal tones. There is a nice earthiness, wet leather to it. The tannins are super soft, much better than on the first night. The finish is of tobacco leaves and mushroom.
Not a lot of acidity left, probably because of the long opening.
Showing extremely well. Very happy with this tonight!!! 90+

November 23, 2010 - note is from about 90 minutes with the bottle opened.
In line with the great 2007 rhones.
Nice ruby red with a thinge of purple, tears of joy running down the rim after a whirl in the glass.
Nose has a mixture of red and black fruit, mint (pushed up by alcool heat, which is a bit too strong at the moment).
In mouth, strawberry and cranberry, then cumin, thyme and pepper. A bit on the sweet side today (I had another bottle a few days ago). Just a touch of shitake mushroom and soy sauce impressions left in the mouth after a good medium finish.
I had been more impressed with the first bottle, but while this is not a dirt cheap bottle, it is a really good QPR. Definitely a positive recommendation.
