October 1, 2023 - Allemand v Chave Los Angeles edition: Soft supple fruit, felt a bit short on the finish, meaty pepper on the back end but wish there was a bit more acidity to prop the wine up

August 28, 2023 - Lovely ruby color with a pink rim. Gorgeous blackberry fruit mixed with forrest floor and spice. Harmonious and pure with a bit of baby fat remaining. Medium bodied and still youthful. Grace, balance and youth. Not a blockbuster. Entirely serious and satisfying. give it 5 to 7 years to unfold. (93+)

August 8, 2023 - Opened in Hong Kong with friends and enjoyed over dinner as the third bottle. Slow-oxed for a few hours before drinking.

Consistent with my previous notes on this bottle. Fantastic Hermitage in a great drinking window - felt very Burgundian and elegant - with dark fruits aplenty, great texture on the palate and a bit of signature Syrah spice and pepperiness that was by no means dominating. Great stuff.

April 25, 2023 - Tart cherry dominates the nose and palate. Perhaps some hints of savory aromatics. Quite lively refeshing acidity that complements the grippy tannins. On the early side, perhaps 5 years away from hitting its stride.

April 15, 2023 - Prototypical Chave. Olive, meats, pepper, menthol. Still fairly astringent and a tad early. Explored over 5 hours, continued to evolve and open up. Will revisit our next bottle in 3-5 years.
