October 17, 2022 - This was pretty consistent with our last bottle, although a little less impressive on this showing. A tad muted, with the fruit (blueberry) fading a bit, but still in a good place, and in balance. The oak has enmeshed nicely with the fruit at this stage.

October 16, 2022 - From a friend's cellar. Drank at a his house alongside my 2011 Calon Segur.
Decanted in advance. Served with a variety of appetizers.
Full bodied with ample ripe fruit, herbs and pepper. Ever-present in the background was a pleasant aged wood note. Very nice wine.

April 15, 2022 - This was a very pretty wine that was enjoyable, but I never would have guessed that this was a Cornas. Lots of vanilla with supple tannins and violets and dark fruits, but this could easily pass as a Right Bank Bordeaux or even a California Cab.

December 11, 2021 - Decanted for a bit, but this was singing from the get-go with pretty aromatics of blueberry and wild roses. One the palate, very strong minerality (limestone) to go along with the fruit and spice. This is still going strong and there will be no rush to drink our remaining bottles. Strikes me as a rather elegant--yet balanced--Cornas.

December 5, 2021 - Decanted for a couple of hours. Some bricking around the edges. Distinctive and full Syrah nose of black pepper, smoked meats, tar. Smooth mouthful of blueberry and dark fruits, decent finish. Worth the wait and very good. I would say in its prime drinking window.

(Jean-Luc Colombo Cornas La Louvée) Much tighter than Les Ruchets, this 300-case bottling will need the better part of a decade to develop. The fruit starts to kick in near the back of the palate; a long, fine finish is an auspicious sign. Cornas: Revolution and Evolution
