May 31, 2021 - Nose: Blackberry, leather and a bit of pencil. Browning notes that were a bit distracting. Palate: Nice red berry fruit, raspberries, mint and leather. Just not giving the complexity or balance of prior bottles. Finish: red fruit, blackberry tannins and some dry herbs.

This bottle seemed to be reaching the end of its peak window. I suggest drinking up.

July 3, 2020 - Surprisingly vibrant and still showing classic Bordeaux flavors and style. Slight decant is helpful as the wine was slightly tight when opened.

April 25, 2020 - Perfect cork, not sponge. Dark red with brick rim which indicate its age. Consumed after uncork 1.5 hr. Cassis, raspberry, cedar, tobacco, herbs and spice. Intensity and delicious fruit that is deep and concentrated. Medium plus tannin and acidity. Amazing quality. Drink now. The fruit was faded after 3 hrs.

April 11, 2020 - Herbs and root stock in this elegant old bordeaux. Not decanted. Smooth with lots of acidity on the finish. The nose here is enticing it just draws you in. Light and elegant profile with a dry finish. Drink now. 92 pts.

December 7, 2019 - Unfortunately my bottle of 1986 Mouton Baronne Philippe was way overdue. Decant it for a couple of hours didn't do the job.
