September 20, 2011 - Jemrose Wine Dinner Jujube: First wine of the Jujube Jemrose Winery dinner, wine paired with a ginger, coconut, and pumpkin soup with red rice and hijiki. Peaches in light syrup, citrus fruits, floral notes, and plenty of slate minerality with hints of bitter pecan shells, tropical fruits, ginger, and applesauce. Great palate complexity for CA Viognier. What really blows me away is the acidity, and the alcohol balance, even at 14% abv and the length is 30 seconds + and very clean. No cloying, flabby, or hollow wine here.

Wine Rating: A+. $35 price tag is one of the highest I have seen for Viognier, even from the Rhone, but it's the best example of Viognier I have ever had from a US vineyard. Can't say its a real value though, but you will definitely get quality.

Pairing: A+. Ginger qualities of the wine match up great with the ginger in the soup, and the wine citrus and soup coconut contrast nicely on the palate. Outstanding match.

November 7, 2010 - Pretty tropical fruit notes uplifted by some non-intrusivr alcohol. Intense palate without being heavy. A clean, enjoyable, well mate wine.

September 12, 2010 - Edward Roberts International Pre-Auction Tasting (The Union League Club (Chicago)): Light gold or straw coloring. Very floral, lots of citrus white fruits, fake candy plastic scent. Refreshing, good acid, flavors dances around the mouth long after the wine is gone. Good mid-palate feel. Excellent Viognier…First experience with this winery. 91+ pts.

September 12, 2010 - Edward Roberts International Pre-Auction Tasting (Union League Club of Chicago): Really lovely impressionable white wine from this newly loved producer in my book.
Yellow apple, peachy, white flowers. Awesome honey play. The balance, the texture, the weight - it's all in line.
Highly recommended from this excellent up and coming winery from winemaker Michael Browne.
