March 19, 2022 - From MAG. Very niche showing from the start. Dense and ripe, but not overripe. Excellent tannic core to supplement the ripe fruit. On top beautiful tertiary aromas that we love from Bordeaux. Forest floor, touch of farmyard, leather. Gazin is an inconsistent wine and often a bit diluted because they probably over-crop. It looks like the hot 2003 vintage has given them a helping hand.
April 9, 2020 - Un an plus tard, et nette progression. À se demander si la bouteille précédente n’était pas en faute.
Celle-ci:
Mures, pruneau, tabac, thé noire, et cet arome safranée caractéristique de cette année solaire.
Bel équilibre

Typical red fruits with balanced tannin, its too polite or not aggressive enough, in other word, not attractive enough, making this an ordinary wine as compared to Chasse Spleen 2000 or Ducru-Beaucaillou 2004...
A bit acidic even after 2 hours of air time.. not improvement with time

August 15, 2016 - From Magnum. Medium garnet, brownish hue. Ripe and lush nose with plum, oak, red fruit and cake. Full bodied, fruity with lots of structure to support it. Good freshness for an 03 but tannins a tad rustic at the finish. Nebertheless a very positive surprise for a 2003 right banker.
February 3, 2014 - Interesting nose of tobacco, menthol and mint. Muted sour red fruit on the palate initially, with dry tannins on the finish. Silky mouthfeel.
August 11, 2013 - Last 2003 still very good. Well balanced, dark fruit a hint of tobacco.
I like this wine.

June 3, 2013 - La Commanderie de Bordeaux: Les Cinq (Five Sails - Vancouver, BC): This showed a bit roasted on the nose with graphite and cedar aromas coming through, along with some dark black fruits, sour raspberry and a touch of mint. More towards the red fruit end of the spectrum on the nose compared to the others in this flight. Tons of graphite and cedar on the palate, with rich black cherries and menthol. Lots of lead pencil profile across the board and managed to refrain from showing excessive ripe or roasted notes commonly associated with the vintage. Drinking well already with nice balance but certainly no rush on these. Very good
