December 20, 2020 - A very nice surprise for a 14 year old California sparkler. Plenty of fruit and freshness in the glass. Balanced acidity and just a hint of age on the nose.
February 20, 2018 - On the palate strawberry, lemon and toast. Very focused
December 8, 2017 - Grapefruit notes awesome
November 26, 2015 - A festive sparkler, served prior to Thanksgiving dinner. Fine grain pinpoint beads and a generous mousse. Zesty citrus and bright apples on the tongue, with yeasty baked bread in the back palate.
October 4, 2015 - Had a difficult time removing cork but once accomplished this was a delicious bottle of bubbly. Fresh with citrus.
December 31, 2013 - New Years Eve toast. Nose: Pear, green apple, and buttered bread. Palate: Nice sweet citrus attack, minerals offset sweetness nicely. Finish: Medium-plus length, dominated by citrus flavors.
December 25, 2013 - Very good and easy to drink. Slightly Tart like lemon curd but balanced out well with nuttiness and a light scent of baked bread. Good acidity and freshness. Schramsberg shows, even in one if their 'basic' sparkling wines, why they are the choice at state/White House dinners. Recommended.
June 26, 2013 - Nice, but I tasted very slight oxidation, suggesting that remaining bottles should be drunk.
July 19, 2012 - Fresh nose with pee and green apple and some freshly baked bread. Also some lemon-water.
The palate is like a sweet yellow lemon soda. Quite sweet but slightly bitter mid-palate. Fairly short aftertaste with some acidity that adds some balance.
Initially, the guess would be a "real" Champagne but after some time it get a little flabby and overly sweet that destroys the overall impression
However, not a bad effort.
July 1, 2012 - Well chilled. Beutiful example of BdN sparkler. Great fruit, fresh, med body, super nice balance. Nothing off. Great value $24
