November 20, 2016 - Happy to see that this wine is not over the hill at age 9. Mellow, dusty, red fruit with red licorice and rose petals. Tannins are completely resolved, but structure remains intact. Our last C-H from this vintage.

January 16, 2015 - An easy wine, not very complex just right up the pike dusty syrah. Red/purple fruit, tannins present but relaxed. Ready now.

August 7, 2014 - Purchased in 2010 and cellared for 4+ years. Dark opaque red, aromas of stewed plums, dark chocolate, a touch of spice, and wet earth. Very powerful, intense aromas but not complex or attractive. Good acidity and balance, but a bit dirty with flavors of black fruits, dirt, and damp wine cellar. Finishes clean and dry. Really doesn't have much Syrah character. Drink now.

November 1, 2013 - smells well northern rhone syrah, not earthy but more like a grill brick with under tones of subtle red fruit and dried potpourri, the palate has a gorgeous texture, plums, very one dimensional but not in a bad way hint of raspberry

Conc: Solid lovely drinking at its peak I think now

April 7, 2013 - I loved this bottle. It was beautiful, authentic, and alive. Wish I had more. Not to mention the value: under $20? That is crazy these days.

March 23, 2013 - Solid, good food wine. Syrah at 12.5%, what a pleasant change. Served against a grilled sirloin, and that was nice. Nice minerality in the core, purple fruit. Finish was a bit short, but a pleasant wine and drinking well now.

March 3, 2012 - This has really settled into its groove, showing deeply smoky and meaty Syrah notes amid a graphite minerality. The texture is all vieilles vignes richness. This has some time to go but is really delicious now.

February 26, 2012 - No Formal Tasting Note

What I like about Crozes Hermitage it has nice that nice juicyiness, on the nose with some meatiness but fresh and lively. I like it good stuff good producer

December 24, 2011 - From memory. fairly opaque red-purple, dry flowers and black fruit nose, blackberry and smoky meat palate, medium finish. Pleasant Rhone syrah with food but not interesting enough to much stand on its own.
