February 13, 2021 - Very dark colour and fruit for a CM. More like MsD in style. Wood more integrated since last, fruit is fine, welmade wine, but somehow not talking to my heart.

January 26, 2018 - This really should be held in the cellar another 5-10 years.

I tried to force it. It shows loads of promise with dark cherry and blood orange pithe being predominant with cola too. Cocoa from resolving oak that settled a bit, was easily strained out. As the hours of air took hold it withdrew and showed plenty of red fruit, like red raspberry, red currant and more than a bit of pomegranate but the beginning bits of mushroom laced forest floor and the spices that had started to show shut down. This did have a bit of cranberry which I don’t really care for and had some tannic grip still. Compared to a 2005 Alain Breguet village wine, the 1er Cru was definitely more deep opaque red as opposed to garnet, but it still needs time to show all the great stuff.

Hold. As forcing the issue is entirely a waste, other than for education, which this was.

March 10, 2017 - developing, spicy aromas of black cherry, licorice, menthol, thyme-sort of herbs with forest wood, sweet cedar, more minerality as it opens. Tannins are held in check until the end where they give just a bite on the finish. Still plenty vigorous

February 16, 2015 - Ruby red with some brickish elements around the edges and moderate sediment upon decanting. The nose was slightly muted with an odd woody-earthy accent. The bouquet did not change much after 1 1/2 hours of decanting. The palate was moderately fruity with mainly black fruits, earth and some minerality. However, the palate was dominated by persistent dry wood tannins which never fully became integrated into the wine. The finish was short mainly due to the dry tannins. In a nutshell, this wine never seemed to come together and was disappointing. I also don't think that it would get better with age so if you have a bottle I would drink it now.

February 1, 2014 - Tasted at producer in 2008 where it was a pure delight. ----and this is still the case. Good fruit and CM character and approaching the top now and the next couple of years. Unfiltered and some deposit at end. Medium lenght, cherrystone and strawberry palette, quite a lot of oak still present, but not drying the wine.
