April 7, 2018 - I really wanted to love this bottle of wine. Had very nice acidity. Decent fruit. One of the better blaufrankisch I've had. Nonetheless, not worth the effusive praise I've heard about it. It's nice, it's tasty, it's not phenomenal. It's fine.

March 17, 2017 - Colorful Tasting with friends (Private Location): A hint of cellar mustiness but it quickly blows off after the wine gets some air in the glass. Lots of spices, pepper, wet earth, lovage and some red fruit (Blind I definitely voted for a Cab Franc). Tense acidity, tannins are totally integrated. This Blaufränkisch has lots of edges, its not a flatterer. Good length. Although the acidity is still very present I think its time to drink it up.

March 17, 2017 - Some wine with friends (@home): Glass: Riedel Vinum Syrah
    Popped and poured. Tasted blind.
Hazy, unfiltered, medium/deep garnet/tawny color. Clean, medium intense, fully developed nose. Aromas of soil, barn, brett, spices and some green/vegetal nose. Reminds me of a Cabernet driven BDX.
Dry, medium+ acidity, a bit raw and angular. Medium tannin and alcohol (13% abv). Medium intense flavors of green vegetables, Maggi (lovage) and red fruit. A wine with rough edges, maybe a bit past peak but drinks nicely now. High acidity makes this wine quite lively. Was really surprised to see that it is a Blaufränkisch.

October 13, 2012 - A winemaker making Blaufrankisch as if it was grand cru Burgundy. Terroir driven - a wine that speaks of the terroir. Geeky. Good wine.
