July 3, 2014 - First day it was a little bitter on back palate but not too bad. Pumped off and left overnight and that disappeared. Much better the second day which suggests the need for decanting rather than a pnp. Nice overall though.

May 1, 2012 - Super solid pinot. Subdued nose but great bright fruits in the pallette. Best with food. a little tart due to high acidity to stand alone but a very solid effort

December 4, 2011 - Westwood Country Club Annual Holiday Wine Tasting (Westwood CC, Vienna VA): faint strawberry nose, strawberry on the slightly thin palate. good but maybe a touch too sharp.

April 11, 2011 - Had at Timponi's in Urbana -- we split a bottle among three -- it paired very well with the food. The opening pair was with crab cakes and a 2nd dish of shrimp and calamari. My main dish of halibut was nicely balanced by this -- not overwhelmed like a stronger red. I tasted hints of grapefruit, a bit of tartness (higher acid) along with sour cherries. A modest, but very pleasant aftertaste with some sense of champagne like fizz while in the mouth.

January 10, 2011 - Bright cherry and strawberry nose. Nice varietal character with cherries dominant; well balanced acidity, maybe a bit on the strong side. Balance could be a bit better, but overall a nice wine with reasonable value.

(Emeritus Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (Restaurant ONLY)) #2 (Restaurant ONLY); COLOR-medium; NOSE-no note; PALATE-I like the strawberry fruit that initially hits my palate, this is not over-the-top like many California Pinot's; it's also VERY clean; I like the finish; I feel the heat a little on the back-end; I like this wine; I like it's polish; the fruit is good; GV-No Score
