October 20, 2023 - Excellent! Still showing dark fruit and a smooth long finish.
October 20, 2023 - Gang of 4 Sweet Lake Farewell tasting (@ RW): Beautiful and expressive bouquet with garrigue, red and dark berries, some sweet licorice root and sweet chocolate. Very tempting nose. Same on the palate, licorice, ripe tannin and good acidity, a bit meaty, cherry bonbon and cedar. Elegant wine with a good length.
April 5, 2023 - Not as good as a year before. Color and nose fine but on the palate not as strong and powerful than 12 months before - a bit fragile. Still very good but I would not wait any longer…
September 11, 2022 - This was my last of 12 bottles. After 15 years you taste definitely too much heat/alcohol (15% declared on the back label). Nonetheless I appreciated the wine a lot.
May 7, 2022 - This is consistently fine C9P. Quite a lot of sediment. The fruit has almost gone now. With 15 % ABV that is now very present, the character has changed a bit (too hot).
March 3, 2022 - A textbook C9P. Wonderful dark red color. Very ripe nose of a powerful wine, dark berries, some chocolate, wonderful sweetness. Mouthfilling, dominant on the palate, smooth and silky. Nice round and sweet finish. I think it’s in peak drinking window. Some years left.
December 11, 2021 - Lovely. Consistently good C9P.
July 25, 2021 - Could taste a touch of sweetness. Very mellow. Not tannic. Various tertiary flavors in here.
June 23, 2021 - No. 4 of 12. Really full bodied and well structured. Good C9P.
April 11, 2021 - Laurel, sweet licorice, chocolate and black olives in the bouquet and on the palate. Good acidity. Completely ready now.
