November 25, 2023 - Ed & Sam to dinner (Home): Mid ruby, very similar to the straight village alongside, but just a little brighter, a touch more luminosity. Similar nose too, mid-red fruit, a touch or earth, but also a finer sense of minerality that follows through to the palate. Again, very similar to the Gevrey VV, but there’s just a touch more depth, precision and line here that would be easy to overlook given its immediate charm. A filigree elegance that wasn’t immediately apparent in previous bottles, this is far more Goulots. ****

August 29, 2021 - Yea and strawberry. Plush palate although became a little more astringent. Dry, mildly tannic finish. Better earlier in the evening

June 19, 2020 - Mid ruby, reasonably dense. Maturing nicely with some wet leaf sous bois, a hint of caramel and nicely gamey mid to dark red fruit. A sense of richness without losing the mineral line that weaves through the density. Lovely. ****

August 8, 2019 - Educating the Youngsters (67 Pall Mall, London): Sappy and mellow, very attractive, but not as wowee as Fourrier can be.

June 8, 2019 - R/Y/I/C (Home): Decanted 5hrs and kept at cellar temp. Initially leaner and a little more sinewy than the CaM, but when poured it has become a lot richer with a lovely sous bois meaty earthiness with some manure. Densely and super smooth silky texture. Long and nuanced, this is currently in a lovely spot and showing a little more than the CaM. Just lovely. **** almost ****1/2

December 6, 2018 - High-toned nose of red berry and soil. The 2007 Goulots is straightforward and hasn't gained any complexity in its years but it shows a good balance of acid, body, and fruit and is a perfect accompaniment to food.

April 18, 2015 - Outstanding. Suprisingly big immediately after the double-decant. Moderated nicely from there, into a real beauty. Earthy through and through. Seamless texture. Outstanding balance. Fabulous now, with a promising 5+ year life ahead of it.

April 13, 2015 - Classic but subtly brighter dirty cherry red color...beautiful! A bit of the classic "everything right" on the nose and in the mouth. I love Les Goulots. Superbly well-balanced earth, rock, cherry, raspberry, truffle, etc., with a bright and long-lasting finish. This juice will do well properly cellared for many more years but is eminently drinkable now. Enjoy!

April 2, 2015 - Lovely. A clear step up from the village Gevrey, as good as that is. Very precise and quite dark red fruit, a hint of meatiness coming through as it starts to show some development and a very good mineral edge. More complex with shades of subtlety cf the village Gevrey. Lots of life but already enthralling. Super. ****
