April 14, 2024 - Red cherry, blackberry, cassis, plum jam, tobacco, herbs, a little new leather, and earth on the nose. Tart cherry, blackberry, red cherry, plum, earth, spice, herbs, and wood on the palate. Nice mouthwatering acidity, grippy tannins, med-long finish. Needs meat or protein to smooth out the edges. Overall, a very nice bottle. The tannin and wood tells me that this should be aged for another 4-5 years, but I don't know if it's going to actually be better then.

February 16, 2022 - 9 years since my previous review and this has improved immensely, with black & blue fruit, worn leather, expresso, mild, silky tannins and medium, very satisfying finish.

October 10, 2021 - I opened this bottle with cautious optimism but it absolutely overperformed. Complex and intense but not too extracted. Seems unlikely to improve but should drink at this high level for a few more years.

December 25, 2020 - Sixteen years old and still with a tannic punch that complimented a Christmas Prime Rib splendidly. Notes of black cherry permeated the palate. Very pleasing across the palate with a very nice finish. All and all a very good wine

September 6, 2020 - FANTASTIC!! Drank this wine with 2005 Robert Foley Claret, 2004 Young Ridge Premium Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, a 2006 Cosentino “The Poet” and absolutely held its own! I can’t in anyway understand the PRO reviews and ratings, this wine is fantastic yet only scored 1 point higher than the Louis Martini Sonoma County for the same year. Appearance is inky, dark and beautiful! Definitely an altitude wine with good minerality, richness and intensity. Some of that intensity must come from the oak. Flavors of blueberry, leather, and other dark fruit. A full palate wine but the finish was not as long as I would have liked. If you have some drink now, I can’t see how this could get any better. Wish I had more.
