September 8, 2017 - Out of mag. DKE's note from three years ago holds well (plums still there, creaminess still one of the main notes, mild spices throughout). Thing is? This is still in shape. Drank well three hours in, and then again 30 hours later. It's not going to climb any higher, mind you, but this is still in great shape.

March 5, 2017 - Dark red. Medium plus body. Tobacco predominant with red fruit subtle then more pronounced when it opened up. I recommend drinking now.

June 22, 2014 - Drank over several nights: initially quite oaky but smoothes out nicely on the second night. On the nose this shows deep tarry, plummy fruit. On the palate this is slightly creamy, with tar, plums, some meatiness and nice spice with a good medium finish with additional spiced and relatively mild tannins. This bottle provided smoother drinking experience than the previous one and the wine seems very much ready to be consumed. 89-90

March 30, 2013 - Drinking well now but benefited from a Multi-hour decant which revealed a bit or earthiness that balance out the fruit nicely. Lots of peppery spice.

November 4, 2012 - This Meyer Family Syrah is drinking really well right now. Terrific nose of cherry cola and licorice. On the palate, well integrated red fruit and spice, with a hint of that licorice from the nose, carries through with a tart cherry finish that makes you want more. Great old world, food friendly, CA Syrah. Outstanding.
