September 1, 2010 - Starting to show mahogany/tawny coloration in the glass. Smoke and leather and violets in the nose, with nice mouth-filling flavor of smoked bacon, some earthy tannins. Yum.
This bottle was decanted for about 5 hours before I tasted it; this wine's still got quite some life ahead of it. -

April 25, 2009 - Garnet with a mahogany rim. Highly aromatic nose of cherry liquor, leather, and dried fruit/flowers. Extremely intense flavor. Cherry, raspberry, raisinated fruit, cedar, smoky spice, and a little leather. A rare "outstanding" in the taste category; this is why people respect Barolos. Dry, mid/high acidity, full bodied. Nearly perfect balance (it'll improve slightly when the wine peaks; right now, it's *still* in a tannic, young phase). Finish goes on and on.
Drink through 2020.
