February 26, 2012 - Simple, good, quaffer for the masses. strawberry is the prevalent fruit. Won't change the world but that's OK.
January 10, 2011 - Light fruity nose, initially sweet then more nuanced strawberry flavor. Medium ro light body. Short dry finish
April 11, 2010 - Strawberry nose with some cherry notes. Medium to dark red, but I can still see my hand through the glass. Warm in the mouth, nicely balanced, relatively short finish.
January 30, 2010 - Pleasant, somewhat simple RRV Pinot Noir with true flavors of PN, just a bit subdued. Red fruit, some background acidity, and very subtle oak and alcohol on the finish. All-in-all, unbeatable QPR at $10 for an everyday PN. No hint of wood chips and other varietals, actually tastes like PN, sourced from 4 coastal California counties.
January 15, 2010 - IMHO this is what pinot noir really is: light red in color with surprisingly rich fruit. Not dark, not a blockbuster. It presents the classic pinot conundrum: how can something that appears so lightweight be so incredibly rich? I drank this very chilled to begin (straight out of a wine refrigerator that was probably in the low 50s) and it seemed to have concentrated the flavor and richness at the core of the wine. Quite an experience for $15. Highly recommended. 2007 is a great year for RRV pinot.
November 25, 2009 - Good nose of strawberry/cherry and maybe some of the cranberry others have noted. Definitely red fruit and some oak. A bit hot on the palate but would not be obtrusive with food. Enjoyable and far better than I expected from a $9 bottle of Pinot. Also made a great pot of Boeuf Bourguignon.
November 25, 2009 - Great wine for pizza. Wine was light, light fruit smell, not heavy, delicious, light oak.
September 28, 2009 - Nice nose lots of cherry on the finnish and a little smoke. A very good value will buy again.
May 15, 2009 - Light ruby color - cherry nose and very creditable PN. Great quaffer
April 23, 2009 - Garnet in the glass. Inviting nose of cranberry and cherry. Abundant flavors, lots of cherry, cranberry, and currant over some vanilla. Tasty. Perfect balance; moderate acidity balancing low/mid acidity. Long finish.
Recommended over a ton of the more expensive Sonoma Coast Pinot Noirs out there. This is pretty darn good.
