October 22, 2020 - Pnp. Still a fairly dark garnet with a translucent rim. Despite the hot 2007 vintage and the noticeable Syrah in the blend, this has very good freshness and the fruit is not overripe or burned, nor are there any oxidative signs. On the less positive side, the wood is still noticeable after 13 years and as the fruit is obviously on the retreat, this is at risk of drying out given the medium tannins. Fairly short finish.
Overall nothing too complex and a nice midweek Pizza or Pasta wine, and well done by Antinori in dealing with the 2007 heat.

October 4, 2020 - Inviting nose of ink, intense wood, licorice. Medium bodied, combining elegant oak, chocolate and cedar, herb aromas to a complex, seducing palate with lots of sweetness and silk. Drink now.

May 18, 2018 - Consider decanting this wine for a good hour. A dense nose of ink, wood, licorice. Mid-to full bodied, this bottle proves to be a wholesome relative of the Guado al Tasso family, combining elegant oak, chocolate and cedar aromas to a complex, seducing palate with lots of sweetness and silk. Cora-wined it on the first day and opened the next day to a lamb filet, where this wine clearly felt „at home“.
