March 23, 2013 - Deep, yellow - amber coloured. Intense nose of predominately yeast, citrus and manuka honey. Dry, acidity has diminished somewhat but did not affect the freshness too much. Medium bodied. Brioche, lemon and slate on the palate. Long length.

February 26, 2009 - Different wines from around the world with Andrew Watson from Hallgarten Wines (Wils Hall, Bristol): The only producer to make wine out of the 6 permitted grapes in Champagne: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Charrdonnay, Pinot Blanc, Petit Meslier & Arbane. This champagne is aged 5 years in used oak barrels from Puligny Montrachet. This Champagne is outstanding - sultanas, a little spice, apple, oak notes. The palate is what you'd expect from the nose - no sudden change of character on putting it in your mouth. Very well integrated oak, very well balanced, excellent mousse, excellent acidity and not sharp at the back (which is my most common complaint with Champagnes). From the importer (Hallgarten wines) this is £28 and blows most similarly-priced Champagnes out of the water.
