August 14, 2015 - In a good spot as it leaves its teenage years. Still fresh, fruity with a refreshing but subtle tartness.

August 15, 2013 - Rich and spicy nose. Finishes a little hot and disjointed. Too big for my taste.

February 12, 2013 - A medium garnet color, but not nearly as opaque as last time. Aromas and flavors of black cherry, raspberry, flowers, spice, just a touch of cinnamon and well integrated French oak. Rich and full bodied in the mouth. Soft, smooth tannins. Good acid and balance. A long and velvety finish. Paired nicely with pork roast.

June 11, 2012 - A deep dark garnet color; opaque. This time, the first aroma I get is strawberry, followed up with black cherry, raspberry, spice and moderate well integrated French oak. Rich and concentrated fruit in the mouth; smooth. An extended velvety finish. This time the wine, of course, pairs nicely with primed rib-eye steak.

February 8, 2012 - About the same descriptors as when tasted last time. Still a dark ruby colored body. The only difference was a more noticeable oak influence on the nose, along with the same black cherry, raspberry, flowers, spice. Smooth and concentrated fruit in the mouth, with the additional flavor of some cinnamon. Same long lingering finish. This time, it pairs nicely with my wife's extraordinary meatloaf.

October 29, 2011 - Scary Good Reds, Rated 90 Points and Above (Farpointe Cellar): Bright cherries on the nose, with some dirt and twigs underneath. There's also some minerals and black currant at the end. Smooth and juicy on the palate, with great acidity. It starts with cherry and currants, adds some earth on the mid-palate, and finishes with some floral notes.

October 22, 2011 - A nice, drinkable wine. I was expecting more acid and a little more complex presentation, but this is a nicely balanced wine with delicious pinot notes of cherry, strawberry, and round, balance fruit. Short finish.

Next day the fruit was faded replaced by pronounced tannins, suggesting a shorter drink date.

July 22, 2011 - Still purple at the rim; dark ruby colored body. Aromas of black cherry, some raspberry, flowers, spice, moderate French oak. An elegant wine, with concentrated fruit and velvety texture in the mouth. The aromas merge as flavors, with the addition of black tea and cinnamon. Long lingering finish; velvety on the back palate, but with just a tinge of heat in the gullet. Paired well with baked salmon.

May 2, 2010 - Beautiful wine, for what that is worth. Rich clear ruby red. Nose of cherry, cedar and just baked bread. Explodes in the mouth with cherry, raspberry, spice and tea and gives a long full lingering finish. I am sure this wine shows well with food, but it is perfect when it is the show.
