April 27, 2017 - I might have waited a bit long on this one. Although the "Pros" say it should be just coming around i found it bordering on the tawny with a brickish edge. Maybe it is the Sangio component being nearly a fifth of the blend as it is far more brunello than it is a Cali Cab despite being more than 50% Cab. I enjoyed it with the deeply seasoned chicken dish but I think my palate just was geared up for a Cab. Very earthy and mature with a tinge of smoke and leather and dark currents. Not sure it will hold up until tomorrow.

August 20, 2016 - Dense, blackish red. Rim paling slightly. Lots of Cab fruit initially; then blueberries, leather, licorice, some spiciness. Very fruit-forward still; fantastic acidity, nice tannins, which balances the dark fruit. Almost full-bodied. Nice, fairly long aftertaste w some complexity and plenty of alcohol. Surprisingly young, might even improve with a couple more years. Very well made (but the price is a bit too high).

    March 17, 2013 - Perfect provenance.
    From 375ml
    Decanted 1 hr.
    No notes.

Phenom. Went Extremely well with black raspberry chocolate chip ice cream. Was expecting standard smooth blackberry modern cab. Got bright blackberry and moca; more a dessert wine tonight. Very minor tanning on the end.
    Great.

93 pts (one of the few, by me: go to Tom Eddy '97 prob for my last one).

March 9, 2012 - Out of a 375. A poor showing. The sub-title on this bottle says "The Tenth Kiss". For me, if this was the "first kiss", I might be more forgiving. Practice is perfect. But by the 10th kiss, I'd start to expect some level of competency. If this wine is the "10th Kiss", I'm glad I didn't see the first.

Core notes are beef bouillon against some level of fruit. Actually, that's wrong, the core note is a biting alcohol. Harsh, with very little to redeem it. One of the worst bottles of wine I've had in a long time. I won't officially score this, but suffice it to say, having opened this bottle, taking two sips, I'm going to clean up and go to bed. And by "cleaning up", I mean the 375, less two sips, is going down the drain. This wine is disgusting in general, and more so factoring in price. I'd say 70 points, but I like it less than that.

I normally wouldn't be so scathing in a review, thinking that perhaps I had an off bottle. But...I didn't like the last one either, so there's a couple data points on this one.

Caveat - given all the other more favorable reviews, maybe there's something about these 375s that's off. But this bottle...sucks. It's not often I go to the cellar late in the night, to pull a bottle that me and my friends really don't need, and find it undrinkable.

July 27, 2011 - Nice but not worth the price.
