January 17, 2011 - Importer tasting (@ PA): For an Amarone wine not extremely concentrated. Some slightly oxidized impressions, cherries, raisins and straw. Some spices and bitterness in the finish.

July 1, 2010 - The aroma of this wine is bold and powerful, with notes of dark smoke and leather. It’s rustic, but there is also a sweet and spicy component to it as well. I pick up on lots of raisin, some dried berry and cherry tones, and some dried violet and mulling spices.

The palate is immense and there is a wonderful rich, lusciousness to it. There are generous notes of plum and cherry mixed with earthy kitchen spices, clove, tamarind, and vanilla bean. It’s very refined with an exceptional presence, and although it is not massively complex, it shows that it is clearly well made. Rich, almost creamy, and nicely structured, with a lingering ,spicy finish, it’s a pretty impressive wine. This is not an unreasonable price for these wines, and many of them sell for hundreds of dollars, and I think this one performs well at the price point. However, if you are looking for a really complex Amarone, I might spend a little more (probably $20) and get a really solid wine instead. But if your new to the style or your looking for a well made wine in this price range, than yes, this could be a wine worth trying.

March 12, 2010 - Kleur: diep robijn rood, helder.
Geur: donker fruit, rozijnen met iets aards (paddenstoelen?).
Smaak: rijpe donkere pruimen, rozijnen met kersen. Achterin iets chocolade.
    Algemeen: feest wijn!
