February 1, 2019 - La Tablee: Legends Dinner w E. Guigal & after party (Daniel & SommTime): Still super super young although this was a lot more open than the '91 we had in the previous flight. It's darker black fruits, lots of pepper, more exotic notes. Very tasty. Well balanced. Delicious.

March 21, 2018 - Absolutely beautiful. Not as complex as some of the other Guigals but a fantastic drinking experience, primarily tasted of slightly tart red fruits with some spice and cutting acid (think candied cranberry or a rhubarb pie) with some nice toasted wood and spice on the finish. Light weight but with lots of flavor. Paired successfully with smoked trout.

March 20, 2018 - Guigal LaLa Dinner II (Chef's Club NYC): The nose here is rustic, earthy, and smoky above developed red berry fruit. Highly expressive. On the palate this is surprisingly vibrant and has great red berry fruit, a black cherry core, and nicely developed sweetness.

March 20, 2018 - Acker Guigal La La dinner (Chef's Club - 275 Mulberry Street): Lovely smoke which just jumps right out at you. This was funny because there was almost a blackberry compote piece to it as well. Again that youngness that makes you realize the wine is going to last for many decades more (CT windows seem off on all of these). It's quite tasty. Nice to see how the age allows a bit more of the flavors to open up.

March 5, 2017 - From an excellent looking bottle, this wine had a red/purple center with oranging rims. The medium intensity nose offerred up cherries, violets, sandalwood, and roasted meat.

In the mouth, this wine was nice right out of the bottle. It actually seemed a bit less robust with 2-3 hours of air and then showed its best with 5-6 hours in a decanter. It came across as completely resolved with light rounded tannin and gorgeously detailed fruit. While the wine was relatively refined, it had rich fruit, was fully integrated, and had outstanding length.

If you desire a monstrous young Landonne, this wine is probably not for you. If you desire to obtain a sense of how these LaLa wines are when they are fully mature, do not hesitate to pop a bottle.

While i expect this wine will last for 5-10 years, it is unlikely to improve. Drink this impressive wine now and enjoy!
