April 28, 2019 - Medium-dark red color with moderate transparency. Aromas of rhubarb, black tea, pomegranate, and blackberry. Palate has pomegranate, black cherry, rhubarb, and cinnamon with a medium finish. This is drinking well and may improve with more bottle time, but see no need to wait further. Drink or hold.

December 28, 2018 - In the five years since last tasted this wine has evolved from delightful to a seriously excellent wine. Complex and dark fruited, savory and subtle. This was quite possibly the finest Pinot I've had from Rhys, and a great example of what California can produce. Excellent to Outstanding.

February 16, 2018 - Almost no signs of further age. Bright, balanced and interesting range of aromas and flavors. Another stellar (but disappeared) Alesia.

September 24, 2017 - Bottle #3 of 3. Side by side with 2009 Anthill Farms Peters Pinot. This is drier, more substantial, more deeply hued, and has longer life ahead of it. Loved it.
