April 17, 2018 - Decanted and drank right away. Very fresh, well balanced, extra fine tannins. Fantastic 12 year old wine that is drinking at its prime right now.

August 24, 2014 - Popped and poured. Consistent notes from the bottle in June. Would purchase again.

June 11, 2014 - Popped and poured. This wine is in a wonderful place right now. Deep purple/black core that fades to a ruby rim. Initial aroma has lots of jalapeno which gives away the amount of Cab Franc in the wine. The aromas then move more towards leather and humidor. Flavors of tart cherry, currant, grilled mushroom and bitter cocoa powder. Heavenly mouth feel with enough acid to keep it lively. Would purchase again.

July 20, 2013 - I love this wine. It is drinking great right now. Deep and dark in the glass. Wonderful black fruit nose and smoke. Rich vibrant black and blue fruit nose upfront and has some nice smoked meat wrapped w/ some tightly wound tannins. Medium to full bodied. Medium long finish.

June 3, 2012 - Very tight on open, but mellowed beautifully after a couple hours of air. Dark, almost opaque inky burgundy in color. Black fruits with some woody notes on the nose, and very oaky on the palate -- perhaps a bit light on some fruit notes on taste, but still lovely. Has some great acidity and a long, lingering earthy finish.
