April 1, 2017 - Slightly "singed" nose of charred wood and black currants. Clearly slightly oxidized. This was fantastic with a ribeye right off the wood-fired grill, but without food, the deficiencies are obvious. Full-bodied and still has some tannin and acidity along with some black currant fruit and maybe the faintest hint of mint. Would have been better a few years ago, but still a nice tipple. Pair with a smokey grilled steak with plenty of black pepper. 88 df 9.0

Plum cocoa cherry cola vanilla. Wow.

February 9, 2013 - Aromas of sandalwood, leather, cedar, red & black fruits and flroals- violets and lavender. There's a slight earthiness to it, though very subtle. Balanced with softened, slightly chalky tannin and flavors of red currants, dust and cedar. A very nice showing.

February 9, 2013 - Opened by Allred at Anvil Club. I thought this had a Bordeaux type nose, but the others at the table disagreed. Notes of black cherry and leather. Tannins are nicely integrated and paired nicely with a dry-aged steak.
