November 16, 2020 - Dark deep purple hue. Smells a little over ripe. Spicy, twinge of vanilla, dark berry (not over ripe), mellow, drink without food, nice wine around a fire. Surprised given other comments-- I enjoyed this bottle.
September 18, 2015 - Typical Mendoza mass produced Malbec; fruity but surprisingly more cigar/tobacco nose and aftertaste. May have been 1-2 years past prime, but paired average with heavy-sauce dinner dish. Was received as a gift.
August 8, 2015 - Fukk bodied taste. Blackberry with notes of vanilla. Taste lasts
August 12, 2013 - Drink now. Not bad... Lots of Malbec's better than this one.
The wine looks Violet colored. The legs are Slow. It smells like Prune, and Vanilla. The body is Medium. The wine has Leathery texture. The wine finishes Long.
February 1, 2013 - Medium body, nice aroma. Not as balanced as previous vintages. OK for the price.
January 2, 2012 - Smooth, easy to drink Malbec. Full bodied and balanced.
November 23, 2011 - Very nice, good finish as well.
November 19, 2011 - Okay, but not great. A bit strong on finish
November 10, 2011 - Greg really liked this wine. Very drinkable. Dark, inky color, medium finish.
October 23, 2011 - Tasted blind from a decanter. Clear, deep ruby. Clean nose of medium plus intensity. The nose mostly exhibited oak, char and mocha. It was difficult to detect much fruit with such a heavy oak overlay. The nose seemed to be developing, since it did seeem to improve with time and air and a little black fruit emerged. The palate is dry, with medium acidity. The tannins, alcohol, body and flavor intensity are all medium plus, but the finish falls a little short. The flavors include black fruit, vanilla and cocoa and more wood. This is an acceptable to good Malbec, especially at this price point, but overall it is a clumsy and over-oaked. It is drinkeable now, but I would hope that the wood would be better integrated in a few years.
