October 11, 2017 - Quite tannic and backward, not a typical village wine. Stern when first poured, this wine needs air. It came around nicely with coq au vin, needing the food and sauce to tame it - lovely dark berries, smoke and sous bois. After dinner, on its own, I thought I detected the faintest trace of cork in this bottle. With more air, it was gone (the wine remaining resolutely tannic), so perhaps it just needs a long decant. It definitely has the muscle to last, but that faint cork taint worries me seeing a few others have had bad bottles. Still an impressive wine - check it again in the next 5 years with big food - steak, bouef bourgignon etc..

July 9, 2017 - Light, clear ruby red color. Nice nose of cherry fruit with with a bit of barnyard funk. Great on the palate with expansive pure cherry flavors and a silky smooth texture. Fully resolved tannin with a nice burst of acidity from mid-palate to the satisfying finish. This is a recent purchase that was obviously well cared. In a perfect drinking window, so I see no reason to wait with my remaining bottles.

July 3, 2017 - In the pocket, not likely to improve but this btl could have go on for at least a few more years. Fading raspberry, tart cherry, mineral and intriguing tertiary forest floor notes. Fun tasty mature red Burgundy with character. I'd rather spend $45 again for this experience versus a lot of boring sameness you get from way too many domestic PNs. 12.5% alc.

December 22, 2016 - Super example for a basic AOC quaffer. Sorry to see the flawed examples listed below. The bricking was modest. Musty nose with tertiary elements front and center. Left half of the bottle in the fridge and finished on day 2. No evidence this was heading downhill but no reason to hold more than 2-3 years assuming proper storage.
