May 8, 2021 - Much more rustic than I was expecting. There was some orange/brown along the edges. Slightly bitter at first but then opened up nicely. Strong aromas of leather, cinnamon. Excellent finish.

March 28, 2021 - Definitely drinking well right now. This was outstanding. Popped and poured and that was the good decision. Cheers.

April 8, 2019 - Had been sitting on this bottle for many many years and served it with a traditional Piedmontese dish of Panissa Risotto. I see the mass appeal of this bottle - the touch of French Oak lifts the aromas and gives the wine a roundness and upfront flavors that Nebbiolo usually lacks. It makes the wine much more approachable and enjoyable. On top of that, the strength of this vineyard can easily be seen with the complex flavors, intense acidity, and fine astringency. It’s a magnificent effort.

May 15, 2018 - Wasn't sure what to expect when I pulled this from my cellar. The color had started to brown so didn't expect much. But it was beautiful and properly balanced with rustic red fruits, acidity and earthy tones. Had a couple of glasses, hopefully still shows well tonight. Have one more of these to pull, it's time to drink up while it is singing its last encore.

    January 20, 2018 - Wine # 6 in Blind Nebbiolo Tasting (J. Haslam)

The group thought this was a '11 or '12 Barolo. I thought it was an '04/'05 Barolo so this was my only victory of the night. I tried this a few years ago and loved it but could not find anywhere to buy this wine - JJ Buckley had 4 bottles of the '13 which I purchased.

This was also the WOTN out of 11 wines (6 #1 votes) with some strong competition - It was my WOTN as well.

Only notes I had: Rose petals, menthol, cherry and sour cherry on nose / palate. Very tannic, lots of oak on palate but very balanced. I loved this as did the group. 94+ This has aged extremely well and as Russk noted below, this is a producer to seek out.
