March 8, 2021 - Celebrating our 15th Anniversary with a 15 year old wine. Fantastic, drinking very well - the ideal mix of tannins and smooth velvety cabernet.
May 18, 2020 - Great mountain fruit cab
92 on day 1 - excellent nose, front, and mid palate but was disappointed a little with the finish.
94-95 on day 2 - finish came around wonderfully
March 22, 2020 - Not much finesse here. A touch syrupy. Eucalyptus and cassis. Maybe vanilla - American Oak? Might get better, but my guess would be that this is what it is.
December 24, 2019 - Good intensity/concentration of dark fruit flavors, as would be expected from Mt Veeder mountain fruit. Expect purple teeth after drinking a glass! Aging has really softened the tannin structure. Drinking very well now, but I suspect this wine could go another few years. Everyone at our dinner party thought this wine was very good and flavorful.
November 12, 2019 - Outstanding nose. Excellent to outstanding palate.
March 9, 2019 - We had a bottle a year ago (see previous tasting note). This is still a young wine. We've extended the drinking window until 2022. Unfortunately, this is the last bottle in our cellar. Dark, rich BlackBerry and cherry taste. Not a fruit bomb, but intense and restrained. Soft tannins and a sustained finish. A little Eucalyptus on the nose. Delicious with food and by itself after dinner.
August 2, 2018 - One reviewer said of this wine in 2009, the wine is backward and foreboding. Well, patience has been rewarded. Drinking very well now. Still some tannins, but everything is balanced. Probably a few more years left on this vintage.
March 16, 2018 - Had w grilled tri tip n steal head. Slow oed for 1 hr. Still youthful. Cassis , red fruits, vanilla chocolate tones. Good structure. Felt like it has to years of life ahead of it. Could benefit from a decant. Good pairing w the meat.
September 11, 2017 - I thought it was solid, though others would have rated higher. Very smooth, but seemed a little thin.
April 2, 2017 - Top WOTN that everyone loved. Sorry, I've no Notes but FWIW it was #1 and a 94 consensus.
