June 23, 2015 - Beautiful deep red / purple color. The nose came alive 15 minutes after opening. The fruit was full and the tannins were soft in the background. Tons of fruit and earth that were balanced and elegant. The finish was long and slightly dry. This wine is perfect for drinking....

December 23, 2013 - this bottle was in good shape and the wine was very enjoyable. It demonstrated most of the nice qualities of Brunello with essences of dried cherries and earth.

October 3, 2013 - A glorious Brunello that shined on pop 'n pour. Nice cherry fruit flavors with the wonderful leather and earth I often detect with Brunellos. Some air gave this a deeper profile of fruit flavors and some floral notes.

October 3, 2013 - San Diego WineSpectator.com Offline, 10/3/2013 (Farm House Cafe, San Diego): Not decanted, but allowed to breathe in glass 30 minutes before tasting. Clear deep purple-garnet color. Bouquet of baked cherry tart, stewed rhubarb and prunes, leather, roses, fresh lavender, creosote and graphite. Polished tannins, medium-full body, rich, balanced, elegant, improved with air. Lingering finish. Outstanding.

July 29, 2012 - This bottle did not live up to the previous few. It seems to fall into similarity with the first bottle opened a 17 months ago. I am beginning to sense that Italian wines are more variable bottle-to-bottle from the same winery and vintage. I have noted this trend from several Tuscan producers. Anyway, not a bad bottle, just not the high I expected based on the previous couple of bottles.

May 24, 2012 - This is in its prime. Hint of leather/earth on the nose. Everything in balance -- very smooth with classic Sangiovese fruit. Drink up if you got 'em.

January 30, 2012 - international style; bright and big sweet dark raspberry and cherry with hints of liqueur or high toned notes; some rhubarb and nice acidity; fun to drink and worked well with the upscale version of beef stew with fancy mushrooms that marilyn concocted

December 13, 2011 - This was one of the stars of the tasting. At this price point, it competed very well against the 2004 Ferrero Reserva and beat the rest of the lot, except the Barbaresco. Excellent acid/tannin balance and long finish.
