March 10, 2020 - Racey nose. Nice color with some bricking. Good acid and dark fruit. Somewhat loose and unfocused with a wooden edge trying to hold things together. Next day much better with emergence of fruit and edge faded.

April 19, 2018 - My best (and last) bottle of this wine. Spectacular nose (crushed rocks, red sour cherries, hints of orange rind, rose petals). Delicious on the palate too - fruit, acidity, minerality. Great balance. Hints of tertiary notes add complexity. Tannins and acidity still there, and suggest this should continue to age well for a few more yrs. If I had more (which, sadly, I do not), I would revisit in 2020.

January 10, 2018 - Very similar to previous bottle (so won’t repeat myself). My hunch is that this could improve in the next 2-3 yrs, so I will try to stay away from my remaining bottle for a while.

November 19, 2017 - Enjoyable, but not quite at the level of some mature Caleras I have had - i.e. still unevolved, little in the way of tertiaries, not particularly complex. My hunch is that this could improve in the next 2-3 yrs, but I am not certain of it. Right now, the nose is delicious (crushed rocks, black cherries, hints of orange rind, hints of rose petals). The palate is a bit simpler though - still, great minerality, good fruit, perhaps a touch short of acidity. I was surprised to see a still fairly robust (for a Pinot) tannic structure. Hopefully these tannins, coupled with the remaining fruit, will carry this wine for a few more yrs - in the hope that interesting tertiaries will surface.

March 24, 2015 - A relatively dark wine for a pinot noir. Shows a nice nose of cherry and brush. On the palate, the wine shows cherry, plum, and some mint. The tannins could still use a little time to soften. The finish on this particular bottle was a little flat.
