February 3, 2024 - decanted and served. Ripe and sweet fruit, exotic spices, almost a little coconut at first, and lots of vanilla. 30 minutes later there was a ton of oak. After 1 hour in decanter the wine showed lots of dried herbs and pine needles, and tons of coconut butter. Classic Aussie Shiraz. Still going strong more than 2 hours later.

April 4, 2022 - Opaque deep red/purple with slight brick red on the edges. Big big nose and palate. The wine should have several years of shelf life remaining.

February 7, 2019 - Lots of age on it- some musty cooked prune, etc- but still aged gracefully and very powerful, better and fresher than a comprable Victoria region shiraz from the same year. Just beneath the cooked note was a load of blue/black fruit, light olive, and a thick sweetness that was almost like maraschino cherry or even a light maple syrup. However, there was plenty of acid, with a long, coffee-tinged finish, which absolutely tempered the thick, syrupy, admittedly addictive nose.
The cork broke on this, and there was a ton of sediment. Store upright briefly, use an ah-so if you have one (I need to get one!)- and decant carefully!
Worth a purchase, although maybe not aged as well as a D'arenberg dead arm from even a few years earlier. Drink now!

December 13, 2018 - I agree with Pablopilot - not really my thing any more but am I glad I still have a couple of bottles lying around. Definitely has a Grange resemblance. Lots of everything with a long long finish. Great stuff on a winters night with your favorite piece of steak.

January 1, 2016 - Opaque purple with garnet rim and huge sediment. Nose is black fruit and mint. In the mouth it comes across as concentrated blueberry juice and camphor. very tactile; grainy tannin. Beautiful and still young.
