July 24, 2015 - Truly outstanding. I have been enjoying this wine for several years now, and admit to opening it with a little reservation being that it is 2015 and an 08 wine. Stunning! Drinking beautifully .

April 5, 2013 - Not my type of Chardonnay.
Did not even find the Chardonnay in this. (had this blind)
Started out with Riesling characters, petroleum, wet cardboard box etc.
    Then turned synthetic.
    Dry and oily.
    Very short finish, with bitterness.
Over done/over extracted and alcohol hot.
    15,5% ABV.
Still, fun to taste this "Burgundy wannabe", but no trace, anywhere, of Burgundy.

February 27, 2013 - I had high expectations on this wine. Have read about it many times but nevere tried it. Maybe it would get a few more points with a little bit of Oak in it. Just a little bit. Then it would be perfect for me. Well well, my notes are below.

The wine is Light gold colored.
It have a nose of Mineral, Peach, and Pear and on the palette Grey Pear, Peach, Apricot, Pineapple, Mineral, Black Pepper, Orange Blossom, and a hint of Alcohol.
It has a long finsh that never seems to end.

I think it can be even better and maybe it can reach for a 95-96p in a few years.

January 11, 2013 - An absolutely brilliant wine which is beautifully condensed and almost voluptuous but still down to earth. The wine has an incredible viscosity and pours like gold from the bottle. The nose offers a massive Chardonnay "attack" of creamy Colza flowers, deep profound minerals and a complexity which is very hard to describe. The palate lives up to the expectations from the nose with an elegant full-bodied approach and a length on the finish which just goes on and on. Normally I refrain from commenting on alcohol percent, but in this particular case it is amazing that there is no trace of the close to 16 percent. This is without doubt a super wine from one of the highly skilled winemakers in the world. Bravo! (Should be drunk now or next year - if you happen to have any bottles left.)

May 23, 2012 - Nice bottle of CA chardonnay. Enjoyed the fact that it did not see any oak so the acids were a bit higher and the fruit came through well. Tart flavors. Good mouth feel. Obvious it is well made wine. Decent value at the $50 price point. I'll drink what I have left but would not buy more.

November 5, 2011 - Greg bought this at S&W in the grill. Let me taste a glass.
A nice wine overall. Not overdone like the alcohol would let on.
Balanced tropical guava, kiwi and pineapple with a spicy rocky element.
Good weight. Medium full body. Tasty, not too hot.

July 22, 2009 - Medium yellow in color. Banana and spicy nose. Riper than the other Diatom's I have tasted. Pineapple, apple, flint, hazelnut and lime zest. Only 1800 bottles of this complex, unoaked Chardonnay were produced.

June 19, 2009 - BYO tasting (My place): Light yellow color with a green hue. Exotic yellow fruit, pineapple and pears on the nose, but it remains very pure and refined while extremely intense. Similar pure, but intense fruit on the palate, notes of pineapple, pears, plums and synthetic fruit like chewing gum. The purity is further strengthened by the striking acidity and the long after taste. Very nice, but currently totally primary in profile. I’m holding on this for the time being.
