  March 15, 2014 - Almost black with magenta edges. Blueberry, earth and wet leather nose. I got a bit of that mustiness that others mentioned, but it didn't bother me. Medium to full bodied, plums, blackberries, black pepper, strong but well integrated tannins, tobacco, some heat, and a medium to long finish. Good both with food and on its own.

  October 7, 2013 - PnV. I also experienced a musty aroma and taste hovering over dark blue fruit, tobacco and spice box. The underlying wine was still very intriguing, but the musty top layer took away from this wine. Too bad. I'd suggest drinking this up if you have any left.

  September 16, 2013 - Decanted for an hour and initially showed some mustiness on the nose and palate accompanied with pepper and modest fruit. Cork showed no signs of seepage and it may be that this wine is on the downhill slide.

  July 17, 2011 - Had with the Unti Vineyard and this beat it out at the table by a bit. More complexity and flavors in the mouth and the heat towards the end wasn't as pronounced. Very nice bottle of Syrah overall. Fruit (dark) forward but not crazy. Balanced with spices and white pepper...Very nice. Should have given it another year at least. Sat open in bottle for 4 hours.

  December 29, 2010 - This opened a little tight and compact. Over three days she opened up nicely, adding weight, palate and a general yumminess. Nose was always light, struggled there, then a nice fruit attack, dark fruit with some tigh red on the back. Can hold for better results.
