November 17, 2017 - Thirteenth Annual White Truffle Dinner (Chez Weber - Chicago IL): Opened, decanted and served 20 minutes later. Served blind as a "bonus" bottle tonight. Showed vintage ripeness with lots of concentration and lots of Gevrey meatiness, but also plenty of slightly sweet spice. Lots of nuance kept unfolding in glass. Very faint, distracting hint of mold.

May 10, 2015 - Loads of slowly cooked mushrooms, dark fruit earth and iron on the nose. More brightness and some red fruit and floral notes on the palate. Lovely old Burg.

March 29, 2015 - Got only a sip of this one but true magic in a glass, so complete. A very special treat shared around at the HDH auction.

March 28, 2015 - Wines Tasted at HDH Auction (Tru - Chicago IL): Bottle with great color, great fill. Mature black fruit aromas and flavors with a meatiness and that intense character of a mushroom medley cooked and reduced for hours. Gevrey notes of leather and animale coming through clearly.

March 28, 2015 - HDH Burgundy Auction (Chicago, IL): Significant bricking on the nose. Very powerful aromatics on the nose: floral, light rust, sweet fruit, plums. Lovely ripe fruit on the palate with gentle dusty tannins. Very pretty acidity. Words fail me here -- this, I suppose, is why people age their Burgundy. Wow.
