December 26, 2021 - tasting notes here are spot on! Definitely use a vinturi or something else to filter the large amount of sediment, and be prepared to wrestle with the cork. But the wait is well worth it! Bricking evident while pouring/decanting but not so much in the glass. Tons of worn leather & earthy fruit, astringent & acidic, tannins strong but not overwhelming. They've integrated well. Bright perfumey nose offsets the earthier notes nicely. Very complex wine, drinking great right now.

September 5, 2021 - Decant and filter. Good fruit still with a tanic finish.....should last a while...a bit modern.

August 20, 2021 - Based on prior comments, I pulled this from a pristine 55 degree Eurocave cellar, stood up for 45 minutes, and then strained into a decanter; a sizable “glop” of sediment remained in the stainer. Fully mature, medium garnet color with a ruby core. Persistent tertiary and savory aromas and flavors show old shoe leather, dried tomato leaf, expired strawberry perseveres, cooked raspberry, stewed cherry and decaying forest floor. Structure is still in tact, tannin may be waning, but acids still holding this together. Solid, very long, cherry cough syrup infused finish. Drink over the next 1-2 years; unlikely to improve with further cellaring. Enjoyed with a pepperoni pizza. Excellent at almost 20 years!
