December 8, 2020 - Not bad for an older vintage ... didn't improve any with age, but still held it's own. Juicy flavors of dark berries. Round, soft, velvety, medium-to-full body. Somewhat medium, rustic tannins. Great with a middle-eastern banquet and its umami flavors on a cold Winter evening.

July 4, 2016 - Plum, earth, mushroom. Integrated tannins. Mild acidity. It's Ready if you are.

    May 5, 2015 - PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs
-nearly opaque very dark red almost black with slight clearing on edge
    -reticent, blackberry, tar, stone
-med/med- acidity, low profile, dense, silky but med+ grippy tannins, earth and a bit of black fruit plum, no significant heat on finish
-very dark profile, brooding, driven more by earth than fruit, not as hot as many other '07s, ready now but should be fine for 5 years

October 19, 2014 - Shared with friends and not many notes taken. Good comments from the group. I wrote in my wine log that it had good depth, was smooth, and medium finish.

February 3, 2013 - Drinking well now. Plum and cherry fruit but a little earth and mushrooms also. Great color. Tannins prevelent but in check.
No hurry but no need to wait also. 2011 - 2018

(BEAU MISTRAL) Weekend Dear Friends, A few well-priced Rhones set to arrive shortly... If you are looking for top-end backyard or Sunday afternoon wines to enjoy over the next five years, this is one of the last 2007 parcels I’ve been able to find (at an enticing price). My guess is that most of you will be very happy to have these laying around the cellar when unexpected guests arrive or a party of one (you) dictates experimentation with the 2007 vintage but you can’t bring yourself to open a prized Chateauneuf-du-Pape. All are well above their level: 2007 Beau Mistral Rasteau Vieilles Vignes - Limited 24/person (compare at $20-28+) 2007 Charvin Cotes-du-Rhone 'Les Poutet' - Limited 60/person (compare at $20-25+) (while I wasn’t that enamored with this wine last year, it continues to get better and better. It has gained depth and structure with time in the bottle – it is more tannic and serious than the above review would have you believe – should be at peak in 3-4 years, not now - JR) Plus, a bonus wine that I find especially enticing despite my usual dissatisfaction with this producer. From a great vineyard source... 2007 Gerin St. Joseph - EXTREMELY LIMITED (if you admire the animal of Syrah that can only be found in this area of the world, you will thoroughly enjoy this wine - should continue to improve for several years – JR) To order any of the above: niki@garagistewine.com This parcel is set to arrive in a few weeks (please check OARS for local pick up after Labor Day). It will ship during the Fall shipping season. Out of state orders will be held for free under ideal storage conditions (56 degrees/70%humidity) until shipping is possible. Locals may pick up at their leisure. For current local pick up and arrival/ship information, please see your OARS link below (at the bottom of this offer) - don’t know how to access your OARS? Simply click the link and see your account. You can also paste the link into your browser.
