December 8, 2020 - Not bad for an older vintage ... didn't improve any with age, but still held it's own. Juicy flavors of dark berries. Round, soft, velvety, medium-to-full body. Somewhat medium, rustic tannins. Great with a middle-eastern banquet and its umami flavors on a cold Winter evening.

    May 5, 2015 - PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs
-nearly opaque very dark red almost black with slight clearing on edge
    -reticent, blackberry, tar, stone
-med/med- acidity, low profile, dense, silky but med+ grippy tannins, earth and a bit of black fruit plum, no significant heat on finish
-very dark profile, brooding, driven more by earth than fruit, not as hot as many other '07s, ready now but should be fine for 5 years

October 19, 2014 - Shared with friends and not many notes taken. Good comments from the group. I wrote in my wine log that it had good depth, was smooth, and medium finish.

February 3, 2013 - Drinking well now. Plum and cherry fruit but a little earth and mushrooms also. Great color. Tannins prevelent but in check.
No hurry but no need to wait also. 2011 - 2018

January 24, 2013 - MUCH better on day two. Black fruit on the attack, weighty mouthfeel, with strong tannins on the finish. No real fruit on the nose, more like white pepper. Lots of sediment - there is actually an entire crushed grape in my glass!

June 16, 2012 - PnP through Nuance Wine Finer. Cherries, earth, mushroom and some licorice on the nose. On the palate, wonderful balance between fruit and earthiness. Very enjoyable alone; imagine it would go great with food too. 91 points. Aloha!

January 21, 2012 - Drinking very well. Stood up nicely to a filet. Also added a nice kick to well-seasoned chicken. Bright fruit, with well integrated tannins.

January 14, 2012 - Enjoyable, tasty, a bit grapey, providing nice ripe dark berry fruit. Doesn't at all resemble any of the other tasting notes, so perhaps this bottle was flawed. Didn't change much with air or over the course of the evening. Would normally rate a wine like this 86-87.

November 25, 2011 - This black cherry red is drinking quite well now. Rich mushroom, black cherry and plum with a touch of firmness and tannins that are rounding into form nicely. I am not sure I would try to hold these more than another 5 years or so.
