March 5, 2024 - Epic night at Capasso. Drank in Grassl Cru.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of garden flowers, light green herb (dissipates later on with more air), red cherries, strawberry, fresh stoney earth, sous bois with more air. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of lovely dancing strawberries, super elegant red cherries, red licorice, fresh stoney earth, flowers in mouth. Clean purity mouth-feel. Lovely long finish.
Excellent quality. Svelte Chambertin. Elegance and readiness of the 07 vintage here. Fruits actually get more exuberant and increasingly dancing on the tongue with more air. Bottle was emptied pretty fast. No hurry to drink this if you still have.

November 12, 2023 - The colour is mid-red tending towards garnet. Medium to full on the palate, although it seemed a touch lean at first. However, it opened out to provide a mix of red fruits with a more savoury, meaty character. Certainly very good, but not the best Rousseau wine I have had by some way, although not the best vintage either.

September 16, 2022 - Started a little disjointed with some dirty socks smells. But came together nicely. Game, umami, underwood. More black than red fruits. Masculine. Top quality Gevrey for the vintage.

July 22, 2022 - Fresh on the nose with the beginnings of secondary development.
Fantastic energy on the palate, primary-fruited, vigorous and and with tremendous length. Ready to drink but early in its drinking window.
    Supremely poised and elegant.
With a couple of hours of air it started to develop a bit more depth and earthiness, edged towards the character of the 2000 next to it. I think on balance though it’s a better wine.

Mid-weight palate, oak presence, rounds out beautifully with air.

September 26, 2020 - 1st of 3, decanted 2.5 hours, perfect cork and level - dark but transparent ruby, little development; classy, complex, very attractive bouquet, black fruit, some meat and spice, hint of violet; medium, long, even more persistent with layers of flavour effortlessly unfurling, silky, nice acid bite, intense if not particularly concentrated or caressing, upside yet and balance for long life. VF (18.5).....interesting comparison with Rousseau CSJ 03 two weeks ago with that clearly the more concentrated but not necessarily the most layered.
