January 17, 2020 - Utterly delicious from sip 1. Earthy and spice on the nose. Savoury on the palate with hints of leather and black berries. The vintage transforms the normal masculine profile of Gevrey to feminine elegance. Good acidity and long aftertaste. Soft tannins. In a perfect spot to drink now, but there is no rush to drink up

January 11, 2020 - Opened, but not decanted, 1 hour. Paling heavily with very light red on rim. Delightful nose with plenty of sweet wild strawberries, gentle truffle, light thyme and a lift of acidity. Palate is rich, round but gentle - real class. Definite savoury, forest sous bois and truffle - gentle strawberries. Very light tannins, so fine, and a gentle fresh acidity. This wine is absolutely fully mature but drinking so wonderfully - incredible balance, depth (though gently so) and real class. This wine shows how a wine does not need to be all power, blow you out of the water wine to be an incredible glass. In such a modest year, this is a real winner, but time to drink. Wonderful.

July 29, 2018 - This was really quite good, especially in the context of the vintage. The nose is beautiful showing perfectly ripe red berry fruits, savory/gamy notes, some spice, and a hint of floral notes. The palate is also excellent with perfect balance, very nice fruit and spice, with a lovely saline hint lingering. Really enjoyable. I'd love to drink this again, but I think for the price Rousseau demands, there are wines as good for 1/2 the price...

April 12, 2016 - Harwood Fest 2016 (Harwood Arms, Fulham, London): Bright, red fruited, very attractive young fruity pinot, fuller and less ethereal than I expect from Rousseau

April 12, 2016 - 2016 Harwood-fest (Harwood Arms, London): Light, pale cherry red. Lovely bright and airy nose. Similar on palate. Pretty but it doesn't speak of Gevrey. Slightly sour red fruit with a whiff of smoke. Seems to become a little more savoury with air, but, despite being a lovely drink, this needs time to find its terroir. ***1/2
