Community Tasting Notes 79

  • Peech Does not like this wine: 84 points

April 4, 2023 - served 45 minutes after decanting. A little stinky and dusty at first. Still got lots of ripe fruit, but palate completely went off and tasted like soap after 1 hour and 40 minutes later.

October 19, 2021 - My first Kistler gifted from a friend. Was rather skeptical being a 16yr old Pinot as have not had opportunity to try many with that age on them. All I can say was it was tight and tart on open with very little fruit and after about an 90 minute barely showed much fruit but much more earthy notes. Not what I expected and didn't care for maybe just my preference.

March 5, 2021 - This did not drinking as well as some other years in the aughts (that are spectacular) as it was very oaky... Would recommend decanting for more than an hour before consumption because the wine was much nicer later in the evening.

January 15, 2021 - very ripe and jammy, plenty of forest, dried herbs. Hot and alcoholic.

January 9, 2021 - pretty tropical nose, with lots of vanilla and coconut butter on top of the fruit.

(Kistler Pinot Noir Kistler Vineyard) Medium red color with black tinge; cola and caramel nose; sweet and tart red fruit with an edge, a little tight yet, with a chunk of caramel oak suspended midway on the palate, making it a little disjointed; medium finish
